Summer Program

Summer School offers middle and high school students the opportunity to enjoy new and different learning experiences, add to knowledge and skills, strengthen weakness in a subject, make-up a subject for credit, or obtain skills in order to be better prepared for their academic coursework during the regular school year.

REACH is designed for children with difficulties displaying appropriate social and problem‐solving skills.
We focus on teaching skills and ensuring success through careful structuring of all activities ‐ group social and individualized skills training, sports and recreation, arts/crafts, academic‐related activities and weekly outings.
Also offered ‐academic remediation in Science, Math, Social Studies and GED studies.
Weekly Theme Schedule
Week 1: You and Me: Getting to Know Someone Activities include: creating a group mural, with emphasis on similarity and differences. Show and Tell, getting to know ME. Claymation, creating your favorite... and talking about it. And so many more art & crafts activities that assist our students in developing an understanding and appreciation of individual differences.
Week 2: July 18 Cooperation and Competition Groups learn the art of collaboration and sportsmanship as they play for the gold! A sport, obstacle courses, relays, a group created game and more teach children to work together and encourage each other to do their personal best. Team building activities that include a ropes course (additional cost is associated with this activity).
Week 3: July 25 Oh What Drama, Express yourself! It's a fun week full of creativity and emotional drama. Groups will work together on costumes, casting and rehearsing emotional lines. Groups will take turns as actors and audience. Lights, Camera, Action! Students will use drama to better understand how to express themselves as well as understand others self‐expression.
Week 4: August 1 Treasure Hunt: Problem Solving Work together as a group to find clues of the lost treasure chest. There are maps to activities that lead to clues that lead to the lost treasure chest. The contents of the chest are a super fun surprise for all and will serve as a guide to assist them with learning how to problem solve using specified methodologies.
