John G. Wood School
The John G. Wood School on our campus is a specialized alternative education school for students in grades 6-12. It serves children from our Residential and Youth Emergency Shelter programs as well as non-VHBG day students. It was established in 1974 and is fully accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Special Education Facilities (VAISEF) and licensed by the Virginia Department of Education. The goal of JGW is to return students to public school, when appropriate, or develop their academic skills to enable them to obtain a GED or a high school diploma.
John G. Wood School Advantages
