After graduating from high school in 2008, Annie left VHBG to begin her college education at Virginia Commonwealth University. She enjoyed living in the dorm during her freshman year and did well in her classes. Now a sophomore, she is working and living at home with her mom while taking a semester off from school to gain focus and decide on a major. Reflecting on her time here, Annie says, "VHBG was more than just a group home to me, it was my home. The time I spent there changed my life for the better. VHBG gave me opportunities I didn’t think I could find in myself. It gave me skills I can use in any situation for the rest of my life. It not only helped me, but it helped my family – it helped us."
